While Gearbox Software finally gave fans something that they have been anticipating for some time in a reveal of Borderlands 3 last week, it still came without an official release date. Some trailer detectives thought they may have discovered a release date hidden within the Borderlands 3 trailer to be in October 1, 2019. However, a recent tweet – which has since been taken down – gave fans a date of September 13, 2019 followed by incentive to pre-order for a Gold Weapons Skins Pack.
With the tweet from the official Borderlands Twitter page seemingly arriving on the one day where nothing should be taken seriously – April 1 – it still doesn’t seem like it’s that much of stretch. However, fans won’t have to wait much longer as Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has stated that the “release date will be locked in” with a reveal coming on April 3, 2019.
The recent tweet also came with a short video clip that has since been removed. Interestingly enough, the video appeared to have a small logo of the Epic Games Store in the corner of the screen, which could signal an exclusive launch on the new PC platform. We’ll all know for certain after Pitchford relays the official information on April 3, 2019.
