Borderlands 3 Release Date Might Have Been Teased in Its Announcement Trailer

After a lot teasing tweets and posts on social media, Gearbox has finally announced Borderlands 3 during its panel at PAX East 2019, taking us back to our great memories with the two previous titles of the franchise, which are not far away from us, as the studio revealed Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition for current-gen platforms and Borderlands 2 VR for some extraordinary experience with virtual reality headsets. Beyond these exciting announcements, we also got the first trailer for Borderlands 3, but it didn’t contain any release date, did it? Well, some say it surely did, but how?

Zottelpanda is a Reddit user that all these rumors have come from. This sharped-eye person believes that Gearbox has teased release date within the trailer and we just have to look more accurate to find out. According to Zottelpanda’s theory, at 1:41 and 1:52 we can see two different skyscrapers that has been numbered, numbers that seems to represent day and month of release date. You may ask that these numbers are just a part of environment design with no means, but Zottelpanda says, the building that number 10 has been marked on it, has been shown before at 1:39 we see that tower for the first time, while there is no numbers on it.

Although you can take all of this theory with a grain of salt, these two numbers lead to a release date of October 1, which is the release date of Borderlands original version back in 2009, so we can expect to get Borderlands 3 at 10th anniversary of the whole franchise and it surely makes sense. However, Gearbox has promised to provide more details on the game on April 3 and it’s not impossible to hear about the release date, five days later. You can check out first official trailer of Borderlands 3 once again and see if you can find more proofs for the theory above or not.
