10 years after release of the original Borderlands and 7 years after the latest installment of the franchise, Gearbox finally announced Borderlands 3 during it’s panel at PAX East 2019.
A nearly 4-minute announcement trailer was exciting enough to take hype rate of the fans to the highest level and made us to look for its release date from any source possible, which led to spread of some rumors, pointing to hidden numbers within trailer as the release date of Borderlands 3. However, Gearbox doesn’t want to play games with you on revealing of the date, as CEO of the studio Randy Pitchford has announced via Twitter that the team is going to unveil release date of Borderlands 3 on April 3rd, along with launch of Borderlands: Game of the Year for PC, PS4 and Xbox one.
The release date will be locked in and revealed on April 3.

If the fan theory of Reddit user Zottlepanda turns out to be right, Borderlands 3 will be available on October 1, exactly at the 10th anniversary of the franchise, which seems to be a respectful date for release of the new title.
