From the day that Gearbox announced Borderlands 3 at PAX East 2019, you can barely find a day that we haven’t got news on the game, from it’s release date speculation before April 3 to the game’s Epic Games Store exclusivity consequences that affected previous titles of the series on Steam review parts. Today, another news has come out from a Reddit user, claiming that Troy Baker won’t reprise the role Rhys in Borderlands 3.
Rhys was a character in Tales from Borderlands, a game by defunct Telltale Games studio that is set in Borderlands universe and now one it’s characters is going to appear in the third entry of the first person shooter franchise, but his voice actor not. According to a Reddit user, Josh_J_Anderson, who has been in a Q&A session with Troy Baker at Supanova Melbourne, when somebody asked Baker that whether he will act as Rhys in Borderlands 3 or not, he’s replied:
I really want Gearbox to know that if they’re going to bring back characters from Telltale Borderlands it should be the people that originated the characters.
While Gearbox has not confirmed the news above yet, but if Rhys would have a short appearance in Borderlands 3, it’s wise to use another voice actor instead of Troy Baker, who seems to ask much more money to act.
