Square Enix has just announced that Silicon Studio is producing a new game in the Bravely Default franchise, titled Bravely Default: Fairy’s Effect. Scheduled for release sometime in 2017, it’s an upcoming fantasy RPG for smartphones.
Square Enix will be launching a closed beta test soon for the game for Android devices for 5,000 players. The company will reveal more information on the beta test via the game’s official Twitter account.
“Square Enix released the original Bravely Default: Flying Fairy game for the Nintendo 3DS in October 2012. An enhanced version of the game, titled Bravely Default: For the Sequel in Japan, shipped in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS in December 2013 and in North America in February 2014.
Square Enix released the Bravely Second: End Layer Nintendo 3DS sequel game in Japan in April 2015, in Europe on February 26, and in North America on April 15.
Bravely Default is a turn-based RPG with random encounters and a battle system focused on the job system. The game uses a system of stocked points called “BP” which characters use to gain extra turns. Every character has a personal set of BP. The “Default” command skips a turn to stock a BP, and the “Brave” command uses that BP to move up to four times.”
