The new PS4 exclusive weapon the Wavesplitter found within the Destiny 2 expansion, the Forsaken, has been reportedly discovered and used by Xbox One and PC players. While the weapon is meant to be for PlayStation 4 owners only, Bungie has acknowledged the issue, and addressed it in the latest patch.
After the patch, Bungie has responded to the issue by integrating a unique solution for the problem. For every Xbox or PC player in Destiny 2 that has luckily found themselves equipped with the Wavesplitter by acquiring it from Xur, they’ll be able to keep the gun. However, they won’t be able to use the weapon, as it will simply stay put in their inventory as more of a collectible, rather than a usable piece of equipment.
But, Microsoft fans won’t have to wait much longer before the weapon becomes available to everyone, as the Wavesplitter will be hitting the Exotic loot pool in September 2019, after the Sony exclusive deal ends.
There’s also plenty of upheaval towards Bungie in their official forum post as there’s other issues that need attention, but are apparently being tossed aside for the moment to address this potential legal issue between Sony and Bungie for the exclusive agreement.
