Bungie Planning to Release a New IP – Expansion Plans Announced

announced a series of expansion plans including the establishment of a new office in Amsterdam and a new IP in pre-production set to release before 2025.

According to reports, Bungie has been planning its expansion ever since it took the publishing and marketing rights for the Destiny franchise, the split with Activision was a necessary move for the ambitions of the small development team.

GamesIndustry.Biz affirms that Bungie began the construction on an expansion to its Bellevue headquarters in Washington. The new building is set to be completed in the fall of 2022, this will allow Bungie to double the development team’s main operations from 84,000 square feet to 208,000 square feet.

Bungie has also expanded the board of directors with Pamela Kaufman and Trace Harris, the two executives are expected to have a managerial role in the new headquarters and speed up the development of the new IP set to hits the market before 2025

Pamela Kaufman currently works at Viacom CBS as the President of Global Consumer Product,  Trace Harris is the former Senior Vice President of Strategy, Finance, and Business innovation for Vivendi.

According to Bungie, the expanded space will “support multiple project teams, including those outsides  of the Destiny Universe.” The studio also affirms that the building is being designed with capacity for on-site developers and the infrastructure needed for remote working.
