Bungie Reveal’s Destiny 2’s Post-Activision Chapter Next Week

Bungie Reveal’s Destiny 2’s Post-Activision Chapter Next Week

Bungie will reveal more information about their post-Activision plans for Destiny 2.

While there are no real specific details at the moment, Bungie tweeted, “Tune in for the reveal of the next chapter of Destiny 2 Thursday, June 6, 10AM PT.”

Bungie didn’t specify on where this reveal will take place. Whether it’s on their YouTube channel, Twitter, Facebook, Twitch or their website we’ll just have to see. I would think that they would first reveal the information on Bungie.net or at the very least Twitter since this is where they announced this.

Next week’s unveiling of the future of Destiny 2 should be an important one as their Year 3 content will be made without Activision overseeing all of Bungie’s work. This could mean that Bungie will release a good quality-of-life update for players now. This would also make sense because the Season of Opulence will be happening from June to August, meaning that they will have a lot to work on during this time.

When Bungie originally announced their departure from Activision they said, “we have enjoyed a successful eight-year run and would like to thank Activisoin for their partnership on Destiny. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie. With our remarkable Destiny community, we are ready to publish on our own, while Activison will increase their focus on owned IP projects.”

Well this is interesting, as Bungie will now have free reign over the rest of Destiny 2’s lifespan. Who knows what they’ll change to the Destiny world. Will Bungie remove microtransactions for this season or will they add more that they want for the game? Hopefully next Thursday, Bungie will reveal tons of information regarding on how the Next Chapter of Destiny will affect the game series overall.
