Activision has officially announced Call of Duty 2018 is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the next entry in Treyarch’s Call of Duty series.
Black Ops 4 will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on Friday, Oct. 12. Those interested in actually seeing what’s in store from the fourth entry in the Black Ops franchise can look forward to a community reveal on May 17.
That’s about all we know right now. Activision says the new title “represents a game-changing experience,” but it isn’t providing anything in the way of details just yet. Instead, the company will be revealing more during a live-streamed event on May 17th.
Rumors of a new entry in the series have been swirling for several weeks, following a report from Eurogamer in February. Things intensified over the last few days, thanks to a baseball cap: NBA star James Harden was spotted wearing a hat with what appeared to be the logo for a new Black Ops game.
Black Ops 4 will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC when it launches in October.
Activision did not announce a Nintendo Switch version in today’s note to press, and Eurogamer has yet to hear word of a Switch version from our sources, but with a Nintendo Direct set for later tonight, an announcement may be waiting in the wings.
