Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare – Requires Large Day One Update

With the Call of Duty franchise choosing to release their game in October for the second year in a row, it seems like the franchise can’t stay out of the headlines. The overall consensus for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare seems to be, it looks great but we’re all skeptical of what’s actually going to come out when the game drops Oct. 25, next Friday. When announced at e3 and based on some reports of those who saw the game behind closed doors, this game is going to be a radically different experience than those of games past. Touchier issues, graphic violence, questionable decisions and more permeate the game. The game got mostly positive reception when the beta dropped back in September, still more issues cropped up. Then Sony announced that PlayStation 4 users would have access to a Special Ops: Survival Mode for a full year before PC or Xbox One users. The controversy continued with users finding signs of loot boxes in the game.

Activision is trying its best to combat the negativity surrounding its game by seemingly being more transparent with users. Developers responding to users on Reddit and even yesterday we reported on Activision taking out loot boxes in favor of a Battle Pass ala Fortnite. Today even more information has surfaced on the upcoming Call of Duty title. According to the Xbox One store the file size for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is 137 gigabytes compared to the PSN store which states the game is 60 gigabytes. This should include the Day One patch fixing some bugs, turning on the servers etc. For some though these file sizes will require users to delete or archive some games to make room for the massive file that is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Are you grabbing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Day One this year? If so what games are you moving around in order to fit this massive game on your system? Let us know and make sure you follow Gaming Instincts on Facebook and Twitter.
