Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is officially the next installment in the COD series and it seems to be the biggest one through the recent years, featuring so many meaningful changes, but the former developer at Sledgehammer Games believes that most of the changes, especially in case of story, are being pushed by Activision toward the development team, though Infinity Ward denies it.
Micheal Condrey, co-founder of Sledgehammer Games who is working for PUBG Corporation, talked about Activision and the next entry of the COD series during his recent interview. Condrey claimed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is going to feature a dark atmosphere compared to the previous games and this is what Activision has pushed Infinity Ward to do. Condrey said:
That said, MW seems like a tough challenge for any studio, especially if they are being pushed by publishing to be more controversial and ‘darker’ for the sake of headlines.
This specific part of interview has spread through different media and finally made Infinity Ward to respond to the Condrey’s words indirectly. The studio’s recent tweet is claiming that Infinity Ward is doing what it wants and nothing has been pushed by anyone toward them, which is an obvious support from Activision against what Condrey has said.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be featuring a promising story starring Captain Price after a long time disappearance since Modern Warfare 3. The game is slated to launch on October 25 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
