Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Matchmaking System Will Be Input-Based

Just like every year, Activision have included a new title for Call of Duty series for this year’s line-up too, but this time around the game is going to launch with bunch of new and distinct features such as cross-play capability that seems to be the first sight for the feature to be seen more in the upcoming multiplayer games.

Today, Infinity Ward revealed new details on cross-play for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and according to what the developer said, players don not need to be worry about the unfair battle between controllers and mouse & keyboard, since the matchmaking system will prioritize the input models to find the you an opponent or team-mate with corresponding type of input.

However, you can break the rule intentionally, if you join to a party full of PC players with a console, then you will have to fight against mouse & keyboard users and probably challenge yourself in a totally cruel way. The input-based matchmaking system has been used previously in Fortnite successfully, which is an important feature for multiplayer titles, especially shooters.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 25. The game features a story-mode starring Captain Price, along with a story-driven co-op experience that will take place after the events of Campaign. Post-launch contents will come to PS4 seven days earlier than other platforms but this time around no season pass and Zombies mode will be available.
