With the news of Infinity Ward’s upcoming 2019 Call of Duty title, simply named Modern Warfare, there’s plenty of speculation as to what fans will see. We’ve already learned that there’s an incredibly ambitious campaign mode marking a return to the mode after 2018’s Black Ops 4 focused on a multiplayer only experience. A new piece of information may hint at the new Cal of Duty title including another battle royale mode, which would expand on what Treyarch Studios accomplished with last year’s Blackout.
The new rumor regarding a new battle royale mode comes from a tweet sent out from Infinity Ward art director Joel Emslie in response to a fan question. The original question asked if anyone at Infinity Ward could comment on the recent rumors regarding a new battle royal mode with Emslie simply responding, “No comment” – in Gif form, of course.

While this doesn’t exactly confirm that fans could see a new battle royale mode for the Call of Duty franchise, it doesn’t really deny it either. The original rumors for the new battle royale coming from YouTube channel The Gaming Revolution claims that the developers are looking to incorporate a map up to three times the size of Blackout with anywhere between 150-200 players participating in total.
While these are simply rumors and speculation, they should be taken lightly until further confirmation. It’s still a bit daunting to imagine this magnitude of battle royale hitting the market.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is set to release on October 25, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
