Rumor: Fable Reboot Announcement Arriving At E3 2019

A recent rumor from an industry insider claims that Forza Horizon developers Playground Games are currently and have been working on a reboot of the Fable franchise. The rumor states that we can expect a short teaser trailer during Microsoft’s E3 presentation this year, while more of the game will make an appearance during E3 2020. The rumor claims that the new Fable reboot has been in development under Playground Games since 2017 and doesn’t expect to see the game officially release until 2021 on next-gen consoles. Sony Shows Off Next Gen PlayStation Tech

Sony gave fans and investors a look into the future with a tech demo showing off the power of the next iteration of the PlayStation console brand. The demo showcased the comparison between a PS4 Pro model and the in-development next gen system using Marvel’s Spider-Man. Along with blazing fast load times which took less than one second on the next gen hardware, the demo also gave viewers an impressive look at smooth and ultra-quick rendering speeds with crystal clear resolution exceeding current gen limitations which you may view in the link above. While there’s no current release window announced for when the industry will see the next PlayStation console – or any other next gen console for that matter – the topic of next gen should start becoming more of a focus as the current gen heads into its sixth year near the end of 2019.

George R.R. Martin Consults Japanese Video Game Developer

In a blog post discussing the closure of the award-winning Game of Thrones TV series and what’s next for the author of the books behind the series, George R.R. Martin hinted at a possible new video game he’ll be collaborating with as a writer, stating he’s “consulted with a Video Game developer out of Japan.” A previous rumor claimed that Soulsborne developers FromSoftware were working alongside Martin on an open-world title. An inside source involved with FromSoftware then told Gematsu that the Japanese developer is indeed working on the alleged open-world game and has been for three years, and that Martin is indeed collaborating with Soulsborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki. Stay tuned for more on this hint as the inside source also stated we’re expected to see a reveal of the game during Microsoft’s E3 conference next month.

Nioh 2 Alpha Gameplay Revealed In New Trailer

Sony Europe and Team Ninja have unveiled a new alpha gameplay trailer for Nioh 2. The game was announced to many fans’ surprise back at E3 2018 and the latest update invites players into an Closed Alpha period of the game. However, the closed alpha is extremely limited to a specific number of invited PS4 users, and if you haven’t been notified yet – chances are you won’t be joining in on any Nioh 2 action. The closed alpha will run from May 24 through June 2.

THQ Nordic Confirms Dead Island 2 Still In Development

During THQ Nordic’s financial briefing earlier this week, the publisher confirmed something many zombie fans have been hoping for for quite some time – that is the existence of Dead Island 2. Announced all the way back in 2014 at E3, some enticing details were shared regarding the open-world zombie slasher title only for it to go silent over the course of then next 5 years. The company recently provided fans with just a small bit of information, but only confirming the game is “still being worked on”. stay tuned as we may hear more on Dead Island 2 depending on how far along the title is in development next month during the E3 event.

Ready at Dawn Confirms New AAA Title In Prototype Phase

Developers of The Order: 1886, Ready at Dawn, have been working on their VR Lone Echo series for the Oculus hardware and are gearing up to release Lone Echo II in early 2020. However, the studio has also confirmed the existence of a new AAA console title which is being worked on internally and completely funded by Read at Dawn, at least, for the time being. Though, the new game is still in its prototype phase, it will be exciting to see how the developers bounce back from the sub-par success found with The Order, and how they incorporate the lessons learned from working on VR titles over the years.

Call of Duty 2019 Appears To Be Modern Warfare Reboot

According to a leak dropped from YouTube channel The Long Sensation then later pointed out by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, Call of Duty 2019 is expected to be titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Instead of a full-fledged sequel titled Modern Warfare 4, the next iteration in the series is said to be considered a “soft reboot” of the series. While no official confirmation has been announced regarding this leak, we’re expected to hear more at the E3 Coliseum event next month.

Rumor: Final Fantasy VII Remake To Have Playable Demo At E3

An unknown, self-proclaimed “industry insider” on Reddit reveals a Square Enix rep has been feeding them valuable information regarding the Final Fantasy VII remake. The supposed leak states that a playable demo of the game will be present at this year’s E3 and will arrive on the PS4 shortly after. It also claims that the already confirmed episodic release will be divided into two parts both costing full price. Take this rumor with a grain of salt as none of these details have been confirmed by any additional, reliable sources.

Rumor: Gears 5 Will Feature 4K/60 FPS Across All Modes

A recent Microsoft document leak shows off what appears to be marketing descriptions of the upcoming Gears 5. The most notable details in the document states that Gears 5 will feature 4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR and will maintain 60 frames per-second on all modes in the game – both single player and multiplayer. Take this rumor lightly as nothing been officially confirmed regarding if this document if legitimate, but we’re sure to hear more on Gears 5 during Microsoft’s E3 presentation next month.
