Call of Duty: Vanguard Reveal Date Confirmed

Remember when games used to just get announced without these build-up to announcements? After a week of leaks and added teasers to Warzone the PlayStation Store it seems accidentally added a teaser for the still yet to be officially named Call of Duty: Vanguard. The teaser was listed in multiple places across the store today.

According to the box, there will be a worldwide reveal event for Call of Duty: Vanguard that will be held for the game at 18:30 PM BST or 1:30 PM EST on August 19. The event itself will be accessible through Warzone. This has been the way they have chosen to reveal their games recently. As stated above the game began to tease World War II Content, which assumably was a tie-in.

Call of Duty: Vanguard has been teased for a while now with many suggestions being that it will take place during World War II. Tom Henderson, a prominent leaker of First Person Shooter games, suggested multiple things a few months ago about the game with the most prominent being its World War II setting.

Even though we know the time period there are some questions still left, however. Another leak about the game suggested that it might have been developed under the name codenaActivisonme Slipstream. Slipstream was a BBC radio drama from 2008 set during World War II but using Sci-Fi elements similar to say Wolfenstein. So it is possible that the game might try to blend these elements as well.

Whatever the case may be, it looks like we will not have to wait long for answers. Unfortunately, this game’s announcement comes at a turbulent time for the company, and the community at large. Alligations of misconduct have been levied against most portions of the company. In response to the companies treatment, developers have staged walkouts and protests against Activision Blizzard. All though company heads have promised to do better, how they plan to have yet to be outlined.
