This E3 has been an odd affair to cover. Unlike the previous year, which occurred at the height of the covid pandemic, we will have what structurally amounts to the usual E3 timeframe. In contrast, last year saw developers hold scattered press events through the summer. However, it still appears we can expect to see most developers opt for small events to showcase all their new content. With the event being all digital it makes sense, not to get 3 days of floor coverage of the conference, but many of these studios often opt for other companies’ stages and smaller games-based coverage. One of these companies is Capcom.
In recent years Capcom has been known to appear on the Xbox stage, that having been where Devil May Cry 5 was announced, as well as Playstations stage for the reveal of Resident Evil 7. While Capcom will following this trend, set to appear at the Summer Games Fest, they will also be holding their own showcase.
Announced today Rachel Quirico, AKA Seltzer, will be hosting the event which is going to be held by Capcom. The event will take place on June 14th at 2:30 PST/5:30 EST.
Although their announcement didn’t say what to expect there are a few games circulating in the rumor mill. The first of these is the Resident Evil 4 Remake. After having ported the game to every place possible there is of course only one thing left to do, give it the Resident Evil 2 Remake treatment. It will incorporate first person, similar to the last two titles in the series, as well as VR.
Another game Capcom is expected (but not guaranteed) to tout is Dragon’s Dogma 2. For a while now a sequel to the first RPG has been rumored, with the newest rumors suggesting the game will run on the RE Engine.
While Resident Evil 8 is already out but that doesn’t mean it will not be present as well. Similar to Resident Evil 7, some form of DLC is expected for the game. There is also the multiplayer game Resident Evil Re: Verse which the company has been heavily promoting recently.
