With the release of the highly anticipated massive expansion to Monster Hunter World, Iceborne, last week, Capcom has unveiled the first major update for the expansion along with its official release date. The new update will introduce the return of a favorite monster in the series, Rajang, along with a plethora of additional features.
Check out the new update trailer for the game below:
The new expansion offers up tons of new content and features for the already massive title. Players will explore a brand new area called Hoarfrost that’s littered with returning and new monsters in the massive experience. Along with the new expansion was also a new free update for the game which offers up a variety of new content to the game.
Other news also revealed that PS4 players will be able to get their hands on a new Horizon Zero Dawn crossover event for the Iceborne expansion. PS4 players previously were able to participate in the original Horizon Zero Dawn event in Monster Hunter World shortly after it released early on in 2018. The new event will allow players to once again play as Aloy but this time wearing her icy armor and equip weapons exclusive to the DLC from the Frozen Wilds which seems to blend perfectly with the Iceborne expansion.
Previously, shortly after Monster Hunter World initially released on the PS4 and Xbox One in January 2018, Sony and Capcom collaborated on several exclusive events, such as Street Fighter V and Horizon Zero Dawn. Within the Horizon Zero Dawn crossover event, players would be able to unlock Aloy as a playable hunter, as well as some of her armor from the game, equipping her bow and unlocking Palico armor that resembled a machine from the Horizon Zero Dawn title.
The Frozen Wilds DLC released in late 2017 for Horizon Zero Dawn which featured a frozen tundra to the north of the base game map and featured new exclusive armor, weapons and more. The Iceborne collaboration will feature a few of the DLC items unlocked during the DLC campaign.
Rajang will be hitting the Iceborne expansion on October 10, 2019 for the PS4 and xbox One while the Iceborne expansion will launch on the PC in January 2020.
