According to VGC, “multiple sources
” had informed them that Capcom, has hired the Osaka-based M-Two as the leading studio for Resident Evil 4 Remake. The newly founded studio is led by former PlatinumGames CEO, Tatsuya Minami, the executive was a very influential developer in the recently launched, Resident Evil 3 Remake.
Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.
M-Two recently contributed to the development of 2019’s Resident Evil 3, but its role on that game was always intended as a precursor to its main project.
It’s understood that the remake has the blessing of original game director Shinji Mikami, who officially declined an approach to lead the project himself but has provided informal advice on its direction.
The studio helming the remake has been in operation since 2018 and is comprised of many former Platinum and Capcom employees.
In the last couple of weeks, a new Resident Evil has been rumored to be in development
, the allegedly game in production will be announced later this year, will have a first person perspective and will be called Resident Evil Village. The project is rumored to bring back the Resident Evil 3.5 project that never came to be a real game.
AestheticGamer also known as DuskGolem on the ResetEra forums has been leading the rumors of both, Silent Hill and Resident Evil next projects, he started the rumor of the Resident Evil 8 project, but apparently, his sources might have not tell the leaker the whole story. Interestingly, VGC do not say anything about the gameplay, perhaps, Resident Evil 4 Remake might take more of a re-imagination approach, and what it’s being rumored are some of the ideas taking place at Capcom.
It is important to mention that all unofficial information should be taken with a grain of salt, but considering VGC’s track record, it’s fair to assume that this information is actually a reliable rumor.
What would you rather see coming next, Resident Evil 4 Remake or Resident Evil 8, should a psychological horror game with hallucinations and mythological monsters be a true Resident Evil game? Let me know in the comment section below.
