Capcom’s New IP Exoprimal Literally Rains Dinos

Capcom revealed a trailer for a new IP, Exoprimal, during Sony’s State of Play broadcast today. The team based action game was definitely the stand out of the show. In an action packed trailer that showed dinosaurs literally raining from the sky, characters in various exosuits battled against hordes of dinos before getting chomped to bits by a rampaging T-Rex.

Exoprimal seems to be another high action, light story entry from Capcom, but there is a story:

It’s 2040 and the planet is in crisis. Dinosaurs are appearing from thin air and laying waste to cities across the globe. Threatened by history’s deadliest creatures, the world turns to the powerful Aibius Corporation and its revolutionary technology for help. The company’s next-generation AI, Leviathan, can forecast where dinosaur outbreaks will occur and deploy Exofighters to the area. Armed with state-of-the-art mechanized combat armor known as Exosuits, these warriors represent humanity’s last hope.

The game itself is a co-op action game but with a competitive twist. In the game’s main mode, Dino Survival, two teams of five will battle hordes of dinosaurs all while racing against each other to complete various objectives. The objectives will differ every time to ensure that each match is different and engaging. Players might find themselves taking out specific targets, transporting cargo or protecting points from relentless assaults. Your rival team might also be given the task to attack your team directly to impede your progress.

Players will battle through dinos and against rival players in exosuits. These exosuits come in an array of classes, which each correspond to the typical roles you will find in team based combat. You have Deadeye and Zephyr which are your dps suits excelling at culling the enemy swarms. The tanky Roadblock carries a huge shield and the Witchdoctor acts as a healer to the party. Each model has unique weapons and abilities and players will be able to swap between exosuits on the fly.

Exoprimal is scheduled to launch in 2023 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam.
