CD Projekt Is Now Facing A Second Class Action Lawsuit

CD Projekt

has recently confirmed the receipt of a new class-action lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The Polish studio is now facing a second class-action lawsuit in where its own investors demand the studio to pay back for the damages caused by the poor release of Cyberpunk 2077.

Little is known about this new second class-action lawsuit, but according to a regulatory notice, the studio could be accused by investors to have been misled over the current state of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

According to CD Projekt, the complaint “does not specify the quantity of damages sought”, the management of the company also promises that it will take  “undertake vigorous action to defend itself against any such claims.”

Mikołaj Orzechowski, a Polish attorney affirms that the studio could’ve broken the Polish penal code if his investigations and the jury decides that CD Projekt committed fraud, Iwinski, and Badowski could be sentenced to prison.

Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection is also determining on the matter, if the Office finds that CD Projekt misled consumers, the studio could be fined up to  10% of its annual income impose further refunds.

In an attempt to regain the trust of the fans, Marcin Iwinski has released an apology to fans over the technical issues with the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Following his official statement, a new Jason Schreier’s report reveals what went wrong with Cyberpunk 2077.

After interviews with twenty current and former Cyberpunk 2077, it has been revealed to Jason Schreier that the development of the game was “marred by unchecked ambition, poor planning, and technical shortcomings.

The information was disputed by Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt who said to Schreier on an official statement “you’ve talked with 20 people, some being ex-employees, only 1 of whom is not anonymous”.

Developers talked, the game was clearly rushed as it’s revealed on the bad ports to old-gen consoles, one key member of the studio allegedly told Schreier that he thought Cyberpunk 2077 release window was a joke.

CD Projekt keeps trying to do damage control over social media, but the release on the old-gen consoles is inexcusable, due to lack of stock of next-gen consoles, most of the pre-orders on consoles are on old-gen consoles, something that may reveal the greedy intentions of the studio.
