CES 2019: Razer Launches Raptor 27 Gaming Monitor

Razer has just launched what they call the ultimate gaming monitor, the Raptor 27 a 27-inch 1440p IPS panel with 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and support for AMD FreeSync.

The Razer Raptor 27 features an IPS display supporting a wide variety of HDR content with a wide DCI-P3 color gamut, which is well known as the film industry standard and surpasses that of sRGB.

“Razer has worked alongside partners in the past to bring the Razer experience to monitors, but the full potential was never fully realized, said Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan in a press release. “We have decided to tackle this space on our own and are very excited to expand our presence to include desktop displays.”

The monitor is targeted at the gaming and esports space with its high-fidelity visuals paired with a fast refresh rate and response time. It also features a single-body aluminum base outfitted with channels in the back for cable management, and can be tilted back 90 degrees in order to easily reach the cable inputs underneath. And of course, up front the base is tricked out with Chroma RGB lighting.

Razer says the panel supports 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and has a brightness of up to 420 nits—bright enough for HDR 400 certification.

Technical Specifications:

  • 27″ WQHD (2560 x 1440px) resolution
  • Non-Glare IPS Display with up to 178° wide viewing angles
  • 144Hz Refresh Rate, 4ms GTG
  • HDR400, 10-Bit dimming processor
  • 95% DCI-P3 wide color gamut
  • 1000:1 Contrast Ratio
  • INPUT & OUTPUT
  • HDMI 2.0a
  • DP1.4
  • USB-C (Support for DP1.4 in Alt-mode)
  • 2xUSB3.0 Type-A Passthrough

The Razer Raptor also features Ultra Low Motion Blur technology that further enhances the sharpness of each individual frame. This produces an incredible image with stunning clarity and life-like fluid motion.

Raptor 27 will launch at $699.99 later this year.
