We also received an announcement trailer for the collection which you can check out below:

Original Story: We’ve seen a slew of remastered and unannounced titles leak over time, but none may be as surprising as what’s surfaced most recently. During the GME GameStop exhibition conference, a screenshot has leaked showcasing a remastered collection of the vintage cinema based titles, The Lion King and Aladdin.

Aladdin originally released on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo consoles in 1993, along with Lion King releasing in 1994. Both of the game were originally developed by Virgin Interactive, but it seems these new remastered titles will be hitting modern consoles with full 1080p support, among other features.

The initial leak surfaced via Twitter user WolverineFactor, with Youtube channel GameXplain and Twitter leaker Wario64 also getting in on the leaks. Screenshots has since surfaced proving that we should indeed prepare for a return to 90s nostalgia in the modern era of gaming. It’s also been revealed that Best Buy is currently taking pre-orders for the remaster, so it seems pretty likely this is accurate.

Along with 1080p, the two titles will also allow players to fast-forward through the levels, as well as allowing the game to show the player exactly how to finish a level. This isn’t surprising considering how difficult some of the areas in these games were to pass, especially when you take into account the type of players these games were targeted towards.

It also shouldn’t come as a surprise to see these games resurface considering both films have been reborn and remade within the last year. Currently it seems that the collection of both titles will release in 1080p form with their original soundtracks on the PS4, Xbox One and Switch. There’s no word of a PC version as of yet, but we could certainly expect one in the future.

The remastered collection is said to release this coming October, but for now we’ve still yet to receive an official announcement.
