While Microsoft continues its policy on seizing new studios in all shapes and sizes, Sony also seems to have similar approaches for the future, especially PS5. Rumors are pointing out an upcoming collaboration between Sony and the developers of Control.
After releasing two titles exclusively for Microsoft platforms from 2010 to 2016, Remedy Entertainment is about to launch its first multiplatform game after Max Payne 2. Control is their new game which represents the studios unique sign in bringing mind-bending stories and mesmerizing atmosphere. The game was revealed during Sony’s press conference at E3 2018, which means the Japanese giant is doing the marketing works for the Swedish studio, but new rumors suggest that more collaboration between the two is about to reveal.
Recently, Shuhei Yoshida has visited Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games studios, with the former being Sony’s first-party studio and the latter having a long successful history of working with PlayStation producer through over a decade. The interesting point is, Yoshida also paid Remedy a visit too in order to get his hands on the demo for Control, and probably a negotiation, based on what rumors offer.
While we strongly suggest you to take it with a grain of salt, it would be interesting to see Remedy gearing up for an exclusive title on PS5, regarding its 6 years of collaboration with Sony’s biggest rival. Also, it would be a great win for Sony to have an exclusive game from such a professional team in creating story-driven titles.
