Independent developer Eat Create Sleep announced the launch of Crest, an indirect god sim, coming March 8th on PC. The game has been in early access but is now due for full release next month on Steam, Humble Store, Green man Gaming and Itch.io and available on PC, Mac and Linux.

“In Crest, you become a god and try to control your followers using commandments, however free will leaves these open to interpretation. Will you create a flourishing civilization or lead them into cannibalism?
“We introduced a range of creative and talented individuals to the team to achieve our vision of Crest and it’s been an exciting adventure” said Martin Greip, CEO and Art Director. “We’re incredibly excited to finally release the full version of the game and we hope it provides a meaningful and profound experience. Our goal is to ask questions with our games and let the player explore the answers.”
Crest takes place in a stylised Sub-Saharan landscape and explores concepts of human behaviour, religion and nature. It adds to the traditional god game genre with an indirect influence mechanic which produces uncertain outcomes. Observe how AI behaviour evolves as a result of your decisions which affect the interdependent circle of humans, animals and nature. Micromanage the world, progress by unlocking new words and interact with and lead your people by issuing commandments.
About Eat Create Sleep:
In 2012, CEO, Martin Greip and former Lead Designer, Oskar met at University. The pair began working on Among Ripples, an ecological management simulation game in early 2013. It was released in April, 2014 and was praised for its calm and meditative gameplay experience, and for its focus on ecosystems.
During the later stages of production on Among Ripples, Eat Create Sleep largely expanded the team with a range of talented and creative individuals to start on their new vision, Crest. Crest is a literal god game where you write commandments to control and interact with your followers.”
