Crysis Remastered Trilogy Announced

Crysis Remastered

, a remaster of the 2007 classic from Crytek, had a bit of a tough time when it released last year. While it looked beautiful there were several issues with gameplay, including its ray tracing on Xbox One X which would render the game unplayable when turned on. Issues aside it looks like we can look forward to the full trilogy later this year.

Originally announced for July of last year it was a series of leaked screenshots that ultimately held the first remaster back until September of that same year. Judging by the appearance of the game upon release, that time was well spent. That did not however prevent the Switch version from releasing on time.

The remasters are being optimized in a partnership with Saber Interactive. This studio also handled the CryEngine 5 remastering of the first game. Saber Interactive is also known for assisting 343 Industries with their remaster of Halo: Master Chief Collection as well as the ported version of Witcher 3: Complete Edition on Switch.

A statement released from the company:

The three-game bundle will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and for PC, with the game playing even smoother on next gen PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Crysis Remastered is available for these platforms now, and the remasters of its Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will also be made available separately.

This means that no matter if you are new to the franchise, or returning from the first Remastered you are covered. Since the new remasters are being optimized for next-gen hopefully the issues present in the first will be fixed.

While the first game in the trilogy is available now, Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered are listed only as coming soon. We can expect the bundle to release the same day.
