When it comes to inspiration, CD Project RED has a good history of choosing great sources to adapt from them and then develop an outstanding video game to break so many records and introduce new standards. The Witcher collection, especially The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, showed off the studio’s capabilities in expanding the boundaries for RPG genre, and now all eyes are on the Polish developer to see what they have to do with Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2020 was a role-playing board game that created by Maxmike Pondsmith and published back 1988. After nearly 31 years, now that game is getting a spiritual successor from one of the best game developers of the industry and Pondsmith has a key role in giving advice to Polish team. Now that Pondsmith is in the process of developing Cyberpunk 2077, he absolutely has some details to reveal about the game and he did so recently by saying that the game is set in the same timeline that Cyberpunk 2020 was.
Although it doesn’t reveal us the vital information of the game, at least we get some details on the game’s story-line, characters and events that might be the same in both games. However, Cyberpunk 2077 has relied on its main source of inspiration in many ways, like the character classes and their abilities that you saw a few of them in 48-minute gameplay footage. So if we know Cyberpunk 2020 very well, we surely get to know Cyberpunk 2077 and it’s features more accurately.
All in all, that of CD Project RED anticipated title will be present at E3 2019 and we hope to see release date with more in-depth look to its gameplay at the biggest gaming event of the world.
