After being delayed out of 2021by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 has finally received a first look at its Next-Gen upgrades as well a rebalancing coming during the next patch for the game. These include a major change in the rebalancing of perks, including the removal of the infamous Commando Level 1 perk that allowed players to remain undetected underwater despite very little water in the game.
The gameplay showcased, which switches throughout the run between PlayStation 5, Xbox Series s, and Xbox Series X is a side mission that should be recognizable to players, known as The Inconvenient Killer. The run is showcased first going through a non-violent path to completion, however before leaving the player hacks several characters and begins shooting to showcase those elements as well.
For existing players, all this will be coming as part of the long-awaited 1.5 update, which includes the upgrades for players that already have the game and the newest generation of consoles, but a slew of updates for all players across the board. Once the gameplay showcase ended, these changes took the focus.
The biggest news was that the skill perks have been rebalanced, including removing perks like Commando Level 1, which was largely mocked in the community. Players who have a save file need to reallocate their spent perks, which will be refunded since these changes might mess with them.
They also showcased changes that have come to AI pedestrians and drivers, now being able to react more freely when the shooting starts, which is good for them since Night City has a lot of shooting. Among these are also minor tweaks as well, with the wait UI being reworked, throwing knives returning to the player after being thrown, and pallet and organization change coming to the menu map.
In addition to all this, players will now be able to change their character’s appearance mid-game, something that players have requested since launch. The game will also boast more color and make-up options for V to choose from when you do. On top of that, V will not be the only thing to get mid-game make-overs as you can also change the appearance of your apartment with several re-paints to choose from. There will also be new apartments that V can purchase and use, additionally offering buffs to the player.
There is even more that will be included in this patch that is not being showcased yet, or will be left for players to discover once the 1.5 update drops including updates to the players’ romance paths. If you want to discover everything patch 1.5 you can do so now, with it being available across all systems now including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
