The ESRB has given their rating for Cyberpunk 2077 and, unsurprisingly, the game is rated for a ‘Mature’ audience, the game contains: “Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content and Use of Drugs and Alcohol”. What has raised eyebrows is the fact that the developers at CD Project RED have included customization for the character’s genitals.
The game contains nudity and sexual material: Players can select a gender and customize their character; customization can include depictions of breasts, buttocks, and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations of genitals.
The ESRB continues to give a piece of brief, condensed information about what’s the game about, confirming that players explore the Sci-Fi Night City and will have to complete missions while engaging in combat with several antagonists, those might be cybernetic, or humans. Handguns, machine guns, rifles, and explosives are confirmed to be present in the final version of the game. The main character will also count with melee weapons, the ESRB says that wrist-mounted blades will allow players stab and dismember enemies.
Night City is expected to be very chaotic, there are frequent combats with guns, “cries of pain” explosions and blood-splatter effects. Gore is also present with mutilated corpses, open chest cavities, exposed organs, and entrails. Torture is also confirmed as it was previously suggested by the Brazilian rating board. The ESRB says that one mission will see players assisting a character by “hammering nails through his hands and feet; screaming sounds and blood effects accompany the scene”.
There is also the talks that Cyberpunk 2077 will contain a lot of NSFW content, ESRB says that players can engage in sexual activities with other main characters or prostitutes, the brief sex scenes are displayed on a first-person view perspective, only partial nudity is expected during those scenes.
