Dark Souls Remastered for Switch + Solaire amiibo Will Launch on October 19

Bandai Namco US announced today on a Twitter post, that DARK SOULS: Remastered for the Nintendo Switch and the Solaire of Astora amiibo will launch on October 19th.

Check out the Twitter post from Bandai Namco US, making the announcement:

“Dark Souls and Amiibo fans have reason to rejoice as the launch of the game will bring the first Souls-themed Amiibo into existence. The figure depicts the Warrior of Sunlight, Solaire of Astora, praising the sun, as he tends to do. By using the Solaire amiibo, players will be able to use the ‘Praise the Sun’ gesture from the start of the game. Presumably you’ll be able to unlock this gesture through normal play, too.

In terms of new features, Dark Souls Remastered will include multiplayer support for six concurrent players and dedicated servers – according to the PlayStation Blog.

Although a lot of the hype surrounding Dark Souls Remastered is around the fact you’ll be able to play it on the portable Switch, the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions look like being the bigger remasters. As well as all the feature enhancements found in the Switch version, PS4, Xbox One, and PC owners will reportedly be able to play the classic game with new lighting and effects (similar to those in Dark Souls 3), plus improved textures.

The first title in the genre-defining action role-playing franchise is coming to Nintendo Switch. The game includes the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, as well as improved framerate and resolution from the original Dark Souls game for an exhilarating return to Lordran. This marks the franchise’s debut on a Nintendo platform, and now for the first time ever, this revered (and challenging) game can be played on the go.”
