Darkrai is Coming to Pokken Tournament

Darkrai is Coming to Pokken Tournament

The news came during a livestream to promote the arcade version of the game, which has also been ported to the Wii U.

A huge patch for Pokken Tournament recently hit consoles that brought with it not only changes to nearly every character in the game, but also a few interesting additional files that could point to who will be added to the game soon.

The Japanese trailer for the summer patch states that new Pokemon coming to the roster will soon be announced. The more tech-savvy trainers in the Pokken Tournament community have been working to scrounge up hints to find out who’s coming.

Members of the subreddit managed to uncover new files tucked into the 1.3 update that reference Darkrai, Scizor, and Empoleon. The files that were found have matching Pokedex numbers, and names of a few moves each Pokemon are capable of using.

Check out the Trailer:

“Scizor is the evolved form of Scyther, a Steel/Bug type with powerful clamp-like claws and a Mega Evolved form.  Darkrai is a powerful mythical Pokemon who can induce permanent sleep and eat dreams.  Finally, Empoleon is the final evolution of Piplup, one of the Sinnoh starters from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.  We previously named Empoleon as one of the five characters we wanted to see appear in Pokken Tournament as he has a more defensive moveset and there’s a lack of Water Pokemon in the game.”
