Gunfire Games, the studio currently behind the development of Darksiders 3 recently announced that they are working on a brand-new IP called Remnant: From the Ashes.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival-action shooter that is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which the earth has been dominated by an alien force from another dimension called The Root.
The game has been confirmed to feature 4 player co-op gameplay in dynamically-generated worlds, meaning that the worlds may feature randomized enemies, paths , etc. Players will be traveling between dimensions in order to battle and defeat the hostile alien race and the game will also feature a character progression system, multiple hero types and so on.
Below is a trailer of the game:
Judging from the gameplay that was shown in the trailer, it looks like this might be Gunfire Game’s take on a Destiny like shooter, in which you go on missions, defeat bosses, collect loot, grow in power, then take on harder missions and so on, and considering that it is being published by Perfect World, a publisher known for MMORPGS and online exclusive games, it looks that the game won’t feature a single player campaign. As always, take it with a grain of salt as the info about this game is scarce.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival-action shooter developed by Gunfire Games and published by Perfect World Entertainment. It will feature four-player co-op in “dynamically generated worlds,” and is currently scheduled for a 2019 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The game will have playable demos at both Gamescom and PAX West later this year, and you can check out the official announcement trailer above.
Remnant: From the Ashes is set in a post-apocalyptic future in which Earth has been overrun by The Root; hostile beings from another dimension. To survive, players will travel to other dimensions, fight through “dynamically-generated levels,” craft weapons and equipment, recruit tradesmen to populate their home base, and customize their character to suit their personal playstyle.
Gunfire Games has confirmed the game will feature a character progression system, and multiple hero archetypes for players to choose from.
