Players can choose to play as War or Strife in Darksiders Genesis, and THQ Nordic has released a trailer to introduce fans to War’s brother.
From THQ Nordic: “Strife, the Rider of the White Horse, is both impulsive and witty, true to the motto ‘Shoot first, ask questions later’ or ‘Two Guns, one Horseman’. He is the one with blood on his boots and a punchline on his lips. He fought countless enemies with his two best friends (read: pistols), Mercy and Redemption, as well as the protection of his impenetrable armor. Always by his side is Mayhem, Strife’s phantom steed.”
In addition, gamers will be able to play Darksiders Genesis in two player cooperative mode (couch co-op trash talk, but also online). “The story takes place before the events of the original game when Lucifer, the enigmatic and deceptive demon king, plots to upset the Balance by granting power to master demons throughout Hell.”
The newest addition in the Darksiders franchise will release on PC and Google Stadia on December 5, 2019. Darksiders Genesis will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 14, 2020. Fans interested in preordering the game can do so on the official Darksiders website.
Darksiders is a hack-and-slash action-adventure video game franchise created by Vigil Games (now developed by Gunfire Games) and published by THQ (2010-2012) and THQ Nordic (2015-present). The series is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where angels and demons battle for control of the planet, including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, whom players control.
The series debuted on January 5, 2010 with the original Darksiders, following up with Darksiders II in 2012 (Darksiders II: The Deathinitive Edition in 2015) and Darksiders III on November 27, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
