Just one year after the release of Darksiders 3, THQ Nordic take the series into new directions with Darksiders Genesis that announced prior to E3 2019 and now a recently shared gameplay footage of it provides more in-depth look into its gameplay mechanics and world.
Darksiders Genesis is rather a spin-off than a sequel to the series and attempts to deliver a quite different type of gameplay style to the franchise. The biggest change in Genesis is apparently its point of view which now is similar to isometric RPG titles. However, the combats still feel the series’ well-known hack and slash type and even features new abilities like shooting with guns for Strife as the main protagonist of the game.
Darksiders Genesis will follow the story of Strife and Horseman that team-up against Lucifer to prevent the antagonist from turning the world into a burning hell in the hands of devils and demons. Throughout your journey, you’ll encounter with different types of enemies and bosses that will challenge you.
One thing that really makes me to add Darksiders Genesis to my wishlist is its gorgeous environment and captivating locations that feels great to fight and run in. The game also features some platforming mechanics that gives a good variety to the gameplay.
Darksiders Genesis is slated to launch in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia and PC.
