After Fortnite, Dauntless is going to be the next game to connect the players between Sony’s PS4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One.
Phoenix Labs, the studio behind free-to-play co-op based Dauntless, has officially announced that the game features cross-play on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Epic Games Store platform. The developer calls the project “One Dauntless” that has been a dream come true for the studio since the start of development process and during open-beta phase. CEO of Phoenix Labs Jesse Houston said:
After a year in Open Beta and a ton of great feedback from over 3 million Dauntless players, we’re proud to bring our game to console and expand our PC audience through the Epic Games Store. When we first started talking about ‘One Dauntless,’ we knew it was a truly audacious goal. No one has ever launched on console with full cross-play support from the start, but we believed in our vision and, thankfully, our friends at Epic Games, Sony, and Microsoft did too. Keeping the community connected is one of our top priorities, and with all the new players coming in at launch, there’s never been a better time to be a Slayer in Dauntless.
It’s worth noting that right now, Epic Games and its store holds both of the games in history that features cross-play between Sony and Microsoft platforms which seems to be a great privilege for the developer of Fortnite.
