Days Gone
Director Jeff Ross, has teased that Days Gone 2 might be a reality. Answering a fan’s request for a sequel simply saying “stay tuned”. While this is not an official announcement, suggest that Days Gone 2 might be already in production.
Back in October, Dualshockers spotted that Jeremy Vickery’s LinkedIn profile said he was involved in pre-production stage for the next title. Vickery was responsible to lead the development of Days Gone.
This is not an official announcement, and fans might have to wait a long time before a Days Gone 2 confirmation arrives. But it’s fair to assume Jeff Ross has solid information being the man responsible for the production at SIE Bend Studio.
Days Gone released last year and got mixed reviews, the game is set in a volcanic scarred high-desert of the Pacific Northwest. Players take the role of Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who would rather risk the dangers of the broken road than live in one of the “safe” wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic has killed almost everyone, but transformed millions of others into what survivors call Freakers – mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human but very much alive and quickly evolving.
SIE Bend Studio is a well known studio, it was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment back in 2000 after the success of Syphon Filter 2. They followed the success of the stealth franchise creating four more Syphon Filter games for Sony. The developer team worked close to Sony in order to take full advantage of the PSP and PS Vita capabilities, releasing Resistance, Uncharted and Syphon Filter titles for the handheld device. Days Gone mark the return of SIE Bend Studio of home console releases.
