Days Gone will be Sony’s first AAA exclusive title to get released in 2019, as it’s development process finished earlier in March and will be available on April 26. The development team has previously announced that Days Gone will be getting a story-driven DLC after launch, but they’ve never talked about thinking about a sequel for the game and make it a franchise, which is something that Sony should agree at first and it seems the Japanese company is eager to save the IP and continue it, if the community wants more of that.
In an interview with Average Caucasian Shark, a member of PR team at Sony revealed that Days Gone could get sequels if i turns out to be an outstanding title with positive feedback from fans. In response to whether the game is going to be a single title or has the potential to receive new entries, he said:
Franchise. The goal is always to make a game that people love and want more of.
Aside from fans, it’s a great news for Bend Studio too, as it’s their first big-score for the publisher in the whole history of this American studio. With such a green light from Sony, now it’s all up to Days Gone to represent a high class gameplay and story in order to hold a special place in the community’s heart.
Days Gone will be dropping on April 26 exclusively for PS4. It will take you nearly 30 hours to finish the game, including 6 hours of cutscenes.
