A new trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance has dropped, only a few short weeks ahead of the launch of the game. The trailer takes an in-depth look at the story, world, and the characters you will get to play within. Best of all, this latest trailer is voiced by Jemaine Clement, of Flight of The Concord fame.
The franchise is intended as a spiritual successor to Baulder’s Gate: Dark Alliance franchise, which was originally developed by Black Isle Studios. Similar to those games the combat will be played from a third-person perspective with fast-paced combo-based combat.
The game will offer four playable characters upon launch. While the game is best played with friends in its co-op mode, it will allow you to enjoy the game single-player as well. As you progress your characters they can unlock up to 50 abilities which can be strung together to make powerful combos.
Alongside the trailer, Tuque Games has also revealed a road map for content that will release post-launch. The first two of these will be free DLC, slated for this year in summer and fall respectively. Both of these DLC packs will add new levels for the player, while the second will also add new difficulty options.
On top of that, there will be an expansion, entitled Echoes of The Blood War, that is slated for release in the fall of this year. Unlike the free DLC, this will add a new narrative, an additional character to play as, and even more, levels to slash your way through. This content will not be free, though no price has been announced.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will be available June 22 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
