Legendary Game Director, Hideo Kojima is now working on its next project, in a Tweet published in his official he teases the possibility of Death Stranding 2.
The image shows an sketch of a tank, something that is very attached to Kojima games, but the direct clue is BB, the character that played a big role in Death Stranding is present in the image on top of the sketches, suggesting that a sequel, is what he would want the most as his next project.
Other sketches from Kojima Productions also reveals the BRIDGES logo, something that adds up to the hype and speculation of a possible sequel for Death Stranding. In the recent weeks, Norman Reedus claimed to be working with Kojima Productions for a new game, something that could link this tease.
Launched as a timed-exclusive, Death Stranding launched in November 2019, and was one of the most hyped games of this generation of consoles. However, the game failed to live up to the hype.
Hideo Kojima capabilities of taking a leadership role of game development studio was questioned by his former employee Konami, rumors says that Kojima redirected a part of the funds of the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for the Silent Hill project, something that, added to his pursue of perfection, led the management at Konami to show him the door and take over the development of MGS V.
Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima’s first game as an independent developer, since he left Konami, to say that fans were excited about his new project is an understatement. Finally, fans could see what the legendary director could do without Konami holding him out. Certainly, Death Stranding has redefined art in videogames, but like good art, not everyone understood Kojima’s work.
Six months after its launch, Death Stranding has barely old enough copies to recover the development costs, a PC version of the game is launching on July 14, but is uncertain if the game will do any better now that it has bad publicity.
Adding up for a bad 2020 for Kojima Productions, Kojima shared his frustration about getting a new project cancelled, this project was teased during months by the studio and Kojima himself. Apparently, Kojima Productions, a studio formed by Team Silent’s veterans, were tasked to create a reboot of Silent Hill.
However, the situation changed dramatically, Konami denied the rumors about the reboot of Silent Hill, and in the following weeks, Kojima announced that his unannounced project was cancelled.
Renowned insider and leaker AestheticGamer spent months leaking information from Konami about the upcoming Reboot of Silent Hill, apparently, Sony and Konami were in the negotiation table, Kojima would get the production, Sony would found and retain the rights of the game while Konami would finally deliver fans what they want without breaking the bank.
