Death Stranding has been announced 3 years ago and we’ve seen 5 different trailers of it so far, but still we have no idea what Hideo Kojima got up his sleeve and this is exactly the game he wants to play with us, as he had mentioned before. While no new worldwide premier has been shown yet, a bunch of famous developers all around world have visited Kojima Productions and Hideo didn’t hesitate to show them what he’s working on and explain his mind-blowing ideas. Fortunately, most of the visitors have praised Death Stranding, calling it something like nothing they’ve seen so far, and the same idea comes from Iain Cook of CHVRCHES.
In his latest interview, Iain Cook talked about his journey to Japan and Kojima Productions to meet Hideo Kojima, while invited to see some under wraps features of Death Stranding. He said:
I was in Tokyo with the band and we went to his studio and he showed us around as well as showing us some work in progress on his new game Death Stranding. He came to the show and we went for some sushi afterwards. I thought I was going to be star-struck but he’s very cool and easy to talk to (once you get used to talking through an interpreter that is!) His office is so cool, it’s all classic horror memorabilia and Godzilla shit.
I could have spent all day in there. He’s such an inspiration though, so brave and thinks like no one else. Some of the shit he is doing with the new game is unlike anything I have seen anyone else do. I have no idea how he’s going to make it work but I am confident that if anyone can do it, Kojima can.
According to what Cook has said, Death Stranding seems to be a revolutionary title within gaming industry and at this point, we can do nothing except getting hyped to receive an exact release date and finally jump into the game’s supernatural world. Death Stranding is a bit behind schedule but according to Aki Saito, the game is traversing through a key time in it’s development process.
