Deep Silver has announced that it will assume publishing duties for Atlus’s upcoming Japanese RPG sequel Persona 5 in the UK and other PAL regions.
The German publisher, which represents the games publishing division of Koch Media revealed on Twitter that it has partnered with both the Persona developer and Sega for some titles. The move will also see Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and 7th Dragon III Code: VFD released in Europe.
The fifth main entry in the cult series is set to launch in Japan on 15 September, 2015, with a US release later confirmed for February 2017 as an exclusive for Sony’s PS4 and PS3 consoles. Whether or not Deep Silver will aim for a similar February release date for Europe is yet to be seen.
Naoto Hiraoka, the CEO of Atlus USA and senior vice president of publishing at Sega of America, released the following statement addressing the move:
“In entering this partnership with Deep Silver, I am truly delighted we will be able to release our titles in the European regions. Not only does the deal span multiple titles, but Deep Silver has a strong presence in European and PAL retailers. They have a strong passion for being able to deliver physical games to our fans in those territories, which we hold in high regard.”
