Once upon a time, Bungie was a first-party studio for Microsoft and the responsible team for Halo series, but the studio decided to leave Redmond and develop a brand new IP under the wing of Activision, in the same genre as Halo. The first title for Destiny series received great reception and two years ago Bungie released Destiny 2 which featured noticeable improvements in all aspects compared to the first game in the series. However, the studio didn’t keep up with Activision anymore and buy out all the rights for Destiny series and then became independent recently.
Now, the outcomes of the breakthrough between Bungie and Activision are about to show up soon. Destiny 2 is officially moving out of Battle.net to become available at Steam on September 17. Right now, you are able to pre-order Shadowkeep expansion along with the game itself and its previous DLCs on Steam for $34.99.

For now, there’s no official news on the game’s addition to other digital retailers like Epic Games Store or GOG. However, Destiny 2 is going to be one of the previously released titles that will be coming to Stadia as it launches.
