Dex Coming To Consoles And PS Vita

Dreadlocks Ltd.

Has announced that its 2D sidecroller sci-fi action game will indeed be gracing select home console and portable systems. For those unfamiliar with this title, Dex takes a cue from seminal classics like Flashback: The Quest for Identity and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It takes these two formulas and wraps it up in a cyberpunk shell. Like Symphony, there is a lot of RPG persistence systems in place and there is even a developed class system of sorts. The conversations with non-playable characters feature fully voiced dialogue and are almost reminiscent of the first two Fallout games in terms of quality.

Dex was the result of a very successful Kickstarter campaign and has already seen release on the PC for Windows, Mac OS and Linux. In new partnership with BadLand Indie, the folks at Dreadlocks are hoping that console and portable gamers will of what Dex has to offer in the way of atmosphere and gameplay. The company plans to release ports of Dex to the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and the Playstation Vita for digital download only. This porting effort is currently boasting all the same features that are present in the original PC release all the way down to the full voice acting during conversations. The console versions are projected to come out at some point within this fiscal quarter and the PS Vita release will launch sometime thereafter.

On the main website for Dreadlocks Ltd. it is shown that a Wii U version of Dex is currently in the works, but it was not listed with the other platforms with the release date details. It may see a later release than the other console iterations during Q1 2015 or launch alongside the PS Vita version.
