Digimon Survive will Launch July 29 in the West

Bandai Namco and developer HYDE announced that Digimon Survive will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam worldwide on July 29 in the west. The game was recently announced to be releasing in Japan on July 28. The game was previously delayed a couple of times with several studio changes. It was originally being developed by Witchcraft before Hyde took on the project. Additionally, producer Kazumasa Habu released a new message via a producer update video on Bandai Namco’s Youtube channel. A set of new screenshots from the game were also revealed. 

The transcript of his statement via Gematsu can be seen below:

“Hello everyone. My name is Kazumasa Habu and I am the producer of Digimon Survive at Bandai Namco Entertainment. Sorry to keep you waiting for updates on Digimon Survive. But today I would like to provide you with this exciting news! The release date of Digimon Survive has finally been fixed for July 29, 2022. The Digimon Survive team is planning to deliver more exciting news to you in all forms. Please look forward to it and stay tuned. We are almost there!”

As for the details of the game, producer Kazumasa Habu went into detail about the game during a Q&A Segment at Digimon Con transcribed by Gematsu back in February. Habu claims that the game “consists of text adventures and tactics battles, and the story is divided into chapters” and that “the volume of text adventure and tactics battle is about 7:3, and the game is mainly text adventure.”Additionally, Habu stated that the game’s story will have 12 chapters, and each route will take about 40 hours, with about 80 to 100 hours to complete all routes. The game will have a total of 113 trainable monsters, and there will be a New Game+ function. Unfortunately, there are no multiplayer or communication battles in the game, and It will not be fully voiced.Digimon Survive is set to release on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 29.
