Nippon Ichi Software has just unveiled the sixth trailer for its upcoming tactical-JRPG Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny.
Called “First-Time Disgaea 6”, the trailer features the main character Zed, his little sister Bieko, and Overlord Ivar as they introduce new players on how to properly utilize new elements such as Auto-Battle and Auto-Repeat, as well series staples such as an “After Story,” and the “Carnage Dimension” and “Rasetsu Dimension” extreme difficulty worlds.

Players will be able to reach level 99.999.999 and make damage up the quadrillions. The main character is a zombie named Zed, powered by his special ability Super Reincarnation, he will defy his destiny as a low-level demon in order to kill the God of Destruction. Interestingly, the trailer showcases Laharl, Flonne, and Etna, the team of the original Disgaea game.
Here is an overview of the game via NIS America:
The “God of Destruction”—a terrifying calamity that is going around destroying worlds—possesses great power and cannot be defeated. If nothing is done, every world could be destroyed.
Through repeated use of transfer magic called “Super Reincarnation,” zombie protagonist Zed becomes stronger the more he dies and continues to challenge the God of Destruction.
In Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, you can perform a Team Attack with up to 10 characters at once. It is significantly more powerful than any Team Attack prior, and can even occur when using special skills. Players can also send minions to the item world as a research squad.
Item Worlds also feature a third force in addition to enemies, such as “Innocents” and “Lucky Boards.” Although neither will actively attack you, you can gain various benefits by defeating them, so be sure to attack if you see them.
Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is scheduled to release on January 28 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. The game will launch in North America in the summer.
