In a world where it seems like Disney is set to take over, another move from the mega entertainment corporation seems to steering that ship to reality. A report from Korean newspaper The Central Times states that PC and Mobile gaming titan, Nexon, has offered up a proposal for Disney to acquire the gaming company.
If unfamiliar with the company, Nexon has published the popular mobile series MapleStory, but has also helped keep an array of popular PC games running in Korea. Games like Final Fantasy XIV, Counter-Strike Online and Battlerite are all currently running under the arm of Nexon – which could soon make them under Disney’s control if this deal goes through.
It’s currently unsure of what this move could mean for the above listed titles in Korea, but it has been referenced that Korean publisher isn’t particularly well-liked by much of the community, as leading share-holder Kim Jung-ju states “Some people hate Nexon to death”.
Nexon has recently released their latest mobile MMO title, Traha, which has reportedly raked in over 4 million advanced sign-ups in the Korean market alone. You can read more over at The Korea Herald.
