QuakeCon 2019 kicked-off yesterday with a bunch of great news on Doom series. First of all, id Software released Doom, Doom 2 and Doom 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch out of nowhere. While the first two titles costs you $4.99, Doom 3 is available for $9.99. After that, we get to see some of the major developers at id Software talking about their career and how they’ve joined to the team of Doom creators. Finally, the brand new multiplayer part revealed for Doom Eternal called Battlemode.
Battlemode is a 2v1 multiplayer mode that allows one of the players to take the role of Doom Slayer, while the other two should be demons. According to the announcements, there will be five playable demonic characters at launch and more will be added for free in the future. Revenant, Pain Elemental, Mancubus, Archvile and Marauder are the playable demons at launch.
On the other hand, the player who chooses Doom Slayer will get access to all the deadly arsenal of weapons that are available through the campaign mode of Doom Eternal. Based on the trailer, Demons should play the matches with an accurate strategy in mind in order to surround Doom Slayer and say him “see you at the hell.” Demons have the ability to spawn AI-controlled enemies for Slayer and make him to encounter with a deadlier situation. Here you can check the announcement trailer for Battlemode:
Doom Eternal will be hitting stores on November 22. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and Stadia.
