Doom Eternal Has Been Pushed Back to the Next Year

One of the launch titles for Google’s Stadia, and Bethesda’s most anticipated product for 2019 has been delayed until March 2020. Today, the official Twitter account of Doom Eternal revealed via a new statement that the game is going to get released next year on March 20, instead of this year’s November 22nd.

Death Stranding, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Need For Speed are all the anticipated triple-A titles that will be coming in November this year, but either March 2020 doesn’t seem to be a safe date for launching Doom Eternal, with Watch Dogs Legion and Final Fantasy 7 Remake arriving earlier in the same month. However, id Software has indicated that the only reason for the delay is to deliver a more polished experience in the same quality that is expected from Doom series. In order to make up for the bad news, id Software has added Doom 64 as a pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal on all platforms.

Being a direct sequel to 2016’s reboot, Doom Eternal is attempting to bring a fast-paced first-person shooter experience at the middle of demon-occupied world. As always, you’re going to play as Slayer and face with thousands of deadly demons. There is going to be a wide variety of distinct enemies and bosses in Doom Eternal as well as multiple heavy guns with different functionalities.

Thus far, we’ve seen enough gameplay footage from Doom Eternal to know what we are waiting for. Like the previous version, Doom Eternal will also feature a multiplayer part with a brand new 2v1 Battlemode, in which two players will take the control of demons while the third one plays as Slayer. There will be 5 playable demons at launch in Battlemode and more will come after launch.

The next Doom will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia next year on March 20. The Switch version of the game has no specific release date yet.
