has just made available Doom Eternal, the game was scheduled to release tomorrow, Friday 20, but the retailer has received id Software permission to start selling the game earlier today. According to Gamestop, the sale of the game earlier represents their effort in keeping costumers and employees “a safe amid social distancing protocols”.
Gamestop is trying to avoid having lots of costumers buying Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, both games where scheduled to be available on March 20. By having Doom Eternal available 24 hours earlier the retail store hopes to avoid contamination of Coronavirus.
To ensure we adhere to CDC-recommended social distancing guidelines, we will be selling DOOM Eternal a day early on Thursday, 3/19 as a safety precaution for our customers and associates. Animal Crossing will release on Friday 3/20 to further help separate the crowds. Gamestop.
