Doom Eternal PC Requirements Revealed

Doom Eternal

is right around the corner, id Software and Bethesda announced the system requirements for PC players, as expected a decent gaming PC is required to run the game at high resolution. But strangely, the publisher removed the PC requirements from Steam, perhaps they’re unsure that the game is running properly on the minimum requirements.

It was listed in the Doom Eternal‘s Steam page that players would need at least an Intel i5 or an AMD Ryzen 3 equivalent. Clock speeds must be higher than 3.1 GHz. 8GB RAM is needed. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB) or AMD  Radeon R9 290 (4GB) GPU isto run the game on low quality at 1080p.

Players who want to run the game on a higher resolution (1440) and at high quality will need a top tier gaming PC.

I7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X processor. 16 GB Ram and a very powerful GPU. NVDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56.

Bethesda is probably just playing it safe with the hardware requirements, the game will release for the Nintendo Switch, which is a very modest hardware less capable than the PC requirements, but it is also unsure the tweaks that the developers will need to do in order to satisfy console players.

Doom Eternal is a very ambitious project, recently Marty Stratton explains that id Software’s development team was working at long hours prior the delay of the game, a delay was necessary in order to reach the level of quality desired for both id and fans.

Doom Eternal will launch on March 20 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will launch for the Nintendo Switch later in 2020.
