Today, Square Enix confirmed that Dragon Quest Builders is headed West this fall. The announcement news aligns perfectly with Dragon Quest’s 30th anniversary. Dragon Quest Builders is heavily inspired by Minecraft, but lets you recreate the world of Dragon Quest with its familiar characters and monsters. In it, you must rebuild Alefgard, which has been destroyed by the infamous Dragonlord.
As you create more places and items, more NPCs will appear in the world. Crafting also plays a big role, allowing you to create new items for your buildings. And, of course, you will fight iconic Dragon Quest monsters that will provide some of your crafting ingredients. Get ready to see plenty of slimes roaming the landscape.
Dragon Quest Builders is being developed for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The game is scheduled to debut in October.
